About the event

Reflexology and it's benefits have been sought since it's development by Eunice Ingham in the 1930's. The workshop will include the history of Reflexology and how it was developed in the United States and abroad. You will learn how and when reflexology should be applied and how to provide it effectively while honoring and protecting your own body with sound body mechanics. You will leave the workshop knowing where to find the direct reflexes that relate to the area of concern and how to appropriately apply the thumb and finger walking technique of reflexology on those areas.

By the end of this course students will be able to utilize the principles of Zone Therapy and Reflexology to improve client outcomes by effectively working their feet with reflexology as part of their bodywork session. Students will know when and how to apply reflexology and when the application of reflexology would be inappropriate.  Prerequisite: Students must come with knowledge of basic human anatomy and internal organ placement. Which is a common aspect of basic training in any bodywork modality and why this will not be taught within this workshop which is designed for those who are already trained in some form of bodywork.

Certified by the International Institute of Reflexology as an approved and trained instructor, Natalie Pendergrass will teach you all that you need to know in order to safely and appropriately apply reflexology techniques to your next client.

This reflexology workshop earns 8 CE hours with NCBTMB and was developed for Massage Therapists.  Although, you are not required to be a massage therapist to attend, no one should attend without a basic awareness of human anatomy and organ placement.  If you are a trained yoga teacher, professional pedicurist or similar, you are welcome to attend.  This workshop requires knowledge of basic anatomy in order to be successful.  Basic anatomy will not be taught in this course although there will be some review.   This class combines lecture, discussion, demonstration, and hands-on practice time.

Please bring either a massage table or reflexology chair, pen or pencil and paper for note taking, snacks, lunch, water and wear layered clothing to adjust for your comfort.
